The clean flat ribbon cable e-skin flat is a flat cable guidance system made of high-performance plastic that shows no visible wear and tear and is abrasion-resistant. The cable guides for automation systems and robots in display and semiconductor manufacturing and in the production of LCD/LED panels must meet special requirements for freedom from particles.

This is because any contamination with particles as small as 0.0001mm has a damaging effect on the product and the process. In contrast to customary solutions available on the market with firmly defined ribbon cables, where stranding elements are firmly fused, the e-skin flat ribbon cable offers chamber systems that can be opened. In just a few minutes, flexible stranding elements -with or without connectors-, e-skin® flat with support chains, hoses, etc., can be exchanged or added.

Volume Pattern Generator (VPG) systems

The flat ribbon cable e-skin® flat convinced Heidelberg Instruments and is used in "Volume Pattern Generator" (VPG) systems. We currently recommend up to 6 layers on top of each other. However, the mounting bracket that holds the layers together should not be higher than the width.
