The igus headquarters in Cologne, Germany

Since its foundation in 1964, igus SE & Co. KG has always been based in the Cologne area. Starting in a double garage in Cologne-Mülheim, the company moved to Bergisch Gladbach in 1977 and finally to its current headquarters in Cologne-Lind in 1994.

The flexible igus factory

Prior to the move to the current location of the company headquarters, a new factory had to be built. One requirement for this was that it should be as flexible as possible to ensure future growth and possible changes. igus Founder Günter Blase commissioned the well-known British architect Nicholas Grimshaw with the project.
