The clean flat ribbon cable e-skin flat is a flat cable guidance system made of high-performance plastic that shows no visible wear and tear and is abrasion-resistant. The cable guides for automation systems and robots in display and semiconductor manufacturing and in the production of LCD/LED panels must meet special requirements for freedom from particles.

This is because any contamination with particles as small as 0.0001mm has a damaging effect on the product and the process. In contrast to customary solutions available on the market with firmly defined ribbon cables, where stranding elements are firmly fused, the e-skin flat ribbon cable offers chamber systems that can be opened. In just a few minutes, flexible stranding elements -with or without connectors-, e-skin® flat with support chains, hoses, etc., can be exchanged or added.

How many layers can be built on top of each other?
We currently recommend up to six layers on top of each other. However, the mounting bracket that holds the layers together should nevertheless not be higher than it is wide.

Which cables can I use?
For high reliability, we recommend using chainflex CFCLEAN stranded structures as well as other igus cable types. 

How long can the ribbon cable be routed?
With the SKF.S e-skin® flat with support chain, it enables an unsupported travel of up to 3m.

What is the available installation space?
