Robust bearing technology for unscrewing and emptying bottles

Reliable plain bearings in confined spaces and under continuous operation in Rink beverage machines

Profile

  • What was needed: drylin® R linear bearing with drylin® linear plain film and drylin® R linear shafts, iglidur ® plain bearing, iglidur® guide ring
  • Requirements: A rink machine uncorks a million returnable bottles in just two and a half eight-hour shifts, so all components must be efficient under continuous operation, and in a very compact installation space. In the beverage industry, they must also be free of lubricants.
  • Sector: Beverage industry, fluid technology
  • Success for the customer: The linear and rotary plain bearings are characterised by very good sliding properties with a long service life and are also ideally suited for use in the beverage industry because they are maintenance-free and do not require lubricants.

Problem

Solution

Figure 1: In the new single-bottle unscrewers, the highly stressed head bearings are realised with linear bearings from the drylin® range.

Figure 2: For a new unscrewing head for small containers, Rink now uses linear bearings made of the material iglidur® E7.

Figure 3: Optimisation during ongoing series production: A conventional piston rod seal was replaced by a guide ring made of iglidur® J.
