  • Success for the customer: Our plain bearings or clevis joints are used in the telescopic mechanism for the solar cover, in the steering wheel, in the wheel suspension of the rear wheels and in the steering gear, in the hinges of the cover lock and on the solar car lid. Thanks to their lightness, wear resistance and vibration-damping specification, they optimise handling and enable speeds of 140 km/h and more.

Self-adjusting igubal® flange bearings and iglidur® G plain bearings are used in the telescopic mechanism for the solar cover.

The igubal® rod end from igus® can also be found in the steering wheel.

The steering consists of a special design. A robolink® gearbox enables manual alignment of the rear wheels with a flex shaft and a hand wheel.

There are also countless bearing points in the steering system that are equipped with iglidur® J. The durable endurance runner ensures lubrication- and maintenance-free bearings in the solar car.

A particularly important bearing point: the wheel suspension of the rear wheels. Here, the young engineers also relied on the endurance runner iglidur® J.

Printed bearings made of the tribo-polymer iglidur i3 are used in the cover mechanism for quick entry and exit.
