Flat linear robots
igus offers linear robots as line, flat and room linear robots for a wide range of tasks. The igus linear robots include preconfigured
drylin linear modules and linear axes with igus stepper motors as well as all
components required for self-assembly.
Application examples
Typical applications for our drylin® flat linear robots are pick & place,
conveyor belt picking and stacking tasks in two-dimensional space.
In most cases, the flat linear robot provides the platform on which our customers
build their application. These are often superstructures that are used to
inspect components, for example in quality assurance.
X-axes
Consisting of: two drylin® ZLW-1040 toothed belt axes, standard version,
toothed belt tension 200N, feed rate 70mm/rev, aluminium profile, surface:
hard-anodised, PU toothed belt with steel cable, white, 150mm guide carriage,
shaft end support made of plastic, driven by an igus stepper motor in
installation size NEMA 24 with encoder, mechanically
synchronised by a main shaft made of aluminium AWMR-12
Y-axis
Consisting of: drylin® ZLW-1080 toothed belt axis, standard version,
toothed belt tension 200N, feed rate 70mm/rev, aluminium profile, surface:
hard-anodised, PU toothed belt with steel cable, white, 100mm guide carriage,
shaft end support made of aluminium, driven by an igus stepper motor in
installation size NEMA 23 with encoder
Control system
The igus Robot Control software allows for simple and intuitive
robot control and programming, making it easy to get started
with automation. The modular design makes it possible to control various igus kinematics, such as delta robots. The linear robot can be controlled via our igus® Robot Control with all its advantages.
The igus Robot Control software is free of charge, requires no licence and is
integrated into the control system. This way, it makes use of a uniform operating
concept and consistent communication services for many components of a system.
This entails less project planning effort and faster commissioning. The igus Robot Control is not a part of the product and can be ordered from us as an option. A master control system is not necessary.
You can of course also use your own (robot) control system.
Alternatively, it is also possible to operate each axis individually with a control
system, e.g. with our igus® D1 dryve motor control system. With
this control architecture, you need a motor control system and an
additional master control system per linear axis or motor to control the
coordination of the movement. You must then program the inverse kinematics for the delta robot yourself in your development environment.
The motor control systems are not part of the product and can be ordered
from us as an option. igus does not offer a master control system at the moment.
Optional accessories
igus® Robot Control for linear robots, cable set for two-axis kinematics in 3m, 5m or 10m or other sizes available upon request.
Further information
Further strokes of up to 3m are available as standard and, after technical testing,
up to 6m and 100kg.
If you are unsure whether you can use the product as desired, please don't hesitate to contact us or use our linear robot configurator (beta).
