The new cable range from igus guarantees reliability and high quality at a favorable prices for the machine tool industry

Hanover/Cologne, 16th September 2013 – Within the context of the "savfe campaign" – reliable components which help to save costs – the igus presentation at the EMO revealed a new, complete range of cables for use in the machine tool industry: igus has developed a range covering all types of cables from control, motor, servo and measuring system cables through to data and bus cables – chainflex M – which guarantees reliable low-cost cables.

chainflex M stands for a service life guaranteed for one million double strokes. The name speaks for itself. This means, the specialist for moving cables is the first supplier on the market to link low-priced cables with a guaranteed service life in the energy chain. igus can make this reliability promise because their cables and systems are subjected to permanent simulated-reality tests. These tests are undergone within the company's own testing laboratory, which has 1,750 m² of floor space. Two billion test cycles are run every year at 180 test stations.

Low-cost range for machine tools: Reliable quality at a favourable price
All cable families in the chainflex M range – whether these are motor, servo or measuring system cables – cost 20-30% less than the ranges on offer so far. Decades of research and market experience allow the energy chain company to develop and manufacture high-quality yet low-priced cables especially for requirements in machine tool designs. This development includes the optimisation of materials and adaptation of the twisting and shielding methods particularly where mechanical engineering systems are designed for one million parts or cycles and work under normal environmental conditions. For example, it is not always necessary to use products, that have undergone cost-intensive approval procedures and meet several kinds of industry standards. In addition, improved manufacturing processes and technological finesse helps to unite the igus "savfe" characteristics of cost efficiency and quality.
