Assembly instructions
iglidur® bearings are press-fit bushings. Its inner diameter adjusts with the corresponding tolerance only after the bearing is pressed into the H7 housing bore. The press-in excess can be up to 2% of the inner diameter. The secure seating of the press-fit bearing is ensured with it. Axial or radial displacements in the housing are thus assuredly avoided.
The bore in the housing should be made in the tolerance H7 for all bearings and be smooth, even and chamfered as far as possible. The mounting is done with a level force. The use of centering or calibration pins can lead to bearing damage and a larger clearance.
Bonding
The pasting of the bushings is not necessary in normal cases. In case higher temperatures endanger the secure seating of the bearing, a temperature-resistant bearing should be used. If the fastening of the bearing is however scheduled through bonding, suitable tests are required in any case. The assignment of successful results to other applications is not possible without further data.
machining
iglidur® bearings are supplied ready to install. The comprehensive product range in most cases facilitate the use of a standard dimension. If a later machining becomes necessary despite this, the adjacent table shows the standard values for machining. As far as possible, the later machining of the gliding surfaces should however be avoided. Higher abrasion is the usual result. The iglidur® M250, for instance, is an exception by its great suitability for subsequent machining. The disadvantages of a surface machining in the other iglidur® bearings can be countered by a lubrication at installation.
