We categorized the materials into application groupings in order to simplify the introduction to the world of iglidur® materials and to provide an initial orientation. The respective group assignment points to the outstanding properties of an iglidur® material. However, this can frequently not be done without overlap, since a material is generally characterized by several core properties. For example, the material iglidur® A500 is assigned to the application grouping of FDA compliant materials. At the same time this material also also rated for a long-term service temperature of 250°C.
The ingredients for all iglidur® materials meet the requirements for Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2).
You can use one of the five standards - iglidur® G, W300, J, X, and M250 - for almost all applications with non-lubricated, dry-running bushings. Together they cover a huge range from extremely dirt-accumulating applications (iglidur® M250) up to ambient conditions that include contact with chemicals and 250°C (iglidur® X). iglidur® G is the best decathlete that is a cut above the average in almost all disciplines. In total there are more than 2000 dimensions immediately available from stock. For all those who want to find a suitable bearing with little effort, for the "casual buyer" and for all those who place value on the greatest possible variety of dimensions from a quantity of 1 piece.
The iglidur® materials are summarized in this group, which virtually have a universal use under normal conditions (temperature, media, etc.). The iglidur® GLW and iglidur® J4 are specially for low-cost solutions in large series. iglidur® P and iglidur® K have a similar potential as iglidur® G paired with significantly reduced moisture absorption, which is advantageous for use in wet environments.
Every iglidur® bushing is naturally optimized for wear, but the materials in this group are characterized by, like the standards iglidur® J and iglidur® W300, particularly low rates of wear, or in other words a long service life. Besides the absolute service life and price level, they differ inter alia in terms of potential temperature and load ranges, and the applicability in conjunction with special shaft materials.
Here you will find high-temperature specialists for continuous operating temperatures up to 250°C (exception: iglidur® V400 with 200°C). In the meantime, the iglidur® X6 surpasses the standard iglidur® X here in many rotary and pivoting applications. iglidur® Z has also been long established as standard with extremely low wear rates under high loads and/or temperatures. iglidur® V400 is characterized as a problem solver in many special cases, and iglidur® UW500 is the specialist for hot liquids.
Almost at the same level as the previous group in terms of temperatures, the "iglidur® H family" is characterized by a high media resistance and a wide range of applications in the wet area. iglidur® H370 is the specialist for underwater applications, iglidur® H2 is the media-resistant, low-cost bushing solution for high volume production with low running performance and iglidur® H1, the endurance runner of this group.
The iglidur® is at home where it should not be lubricated and the highest hygiene is required. Where is this more true than in food handling and processing? This group comprises FDA-compliant materials for the most varied operating conditions in terms of moisture and temperature, including iglidur® T220, a material suitable even for the tobacco industry.
This group is a collection of iglidur® materials for highly specialized applications. Anyone who has been unable to find a suitable bearing will find what they need here. Electrical conductivity, free from PTFE and silicone or fast rotation under water: One iglidur® material for all requirements.
The iglidur® specialists for high loads, high wear resistance combines with the ability to withstand high (static) loads, shock and edge loads. As part of these properties, they all come with their own particular strengths. High loads mean radial surface pressures from 30 to far beyond 100 MPa (100 MPa corresponds to 1000 kg on a bushing of 10 mm x 10 mm).
